Xact for Coal.

Open Cut mining

Description

Xact for Open Cut Coal is designed to specifically manage short-term planning and scheduling functions in the one simple package.

With a tool-set that includes efficient graphical scheduling capability, multiple stockpiling options and powerful charting abilities, Xact improves the scheduler's ability to react quickly and decisively.

Application

Designed as a short-term scheduling tool kit, Xact provides a central repository for short-term scheduling data and logic that can be used with XPAC (Runge's long and medium-term scheduling tool) or as a stand-alone package.

Users may construct, analyse and update short-term mining schedules regularly using databases, Gantt charts, plots and reports.

Benefits

The key benefits of using Xact within your open-cut coal mining operation include:

  • Providing the framework for a unified, systemised short-term scheduling process.
  • Innovative software design and functionality address many of the limitations of spreadsheet based scheduling.
  • Schedule construction and analysis by interactive Gantt charts and graphical and numeric reporting tools provide an ideal environment in which to rapidly update and assess short-term schedules.
  • Inevitable prioritisation issues between production and maintenance activities may be highlighted and analysed in Xact with rapid scenario analysis being available by the reporting tools.
  • Detailed grade blending can be achieved with custom charts and reports that highlight both target and current grades of dumps and stockpiles.
  • Xact is continuing to evolve as a value-adding application for mining and industrial applications and has a well-defined, client-driven development strategy.

Underground mining

Description

Xact for Underground Coal is designed to manage short-term planning and scheduling functions in one simple package. With a tool-set that includes efficient graphical scheduling capability, multiple stockpiling options and powerful charting abilities, Xact enhances the ability to react quickly, decisively and minimise plan reworking.

The inclusion of Runge's proven underground panel layout CAD tools makes Xact for UGC the perfect package for underground coal planners and schedulers alike.

Xact for UGC helps to manage the detailed day-to-day mining activities that are essential to complement the medium to longer term strategic planning of a mining operation.

Application

Designed as a short-term scheduling tool kit, Xact provides a central repository for short-term scheduling data and logic.

Xact UGC can be used with XPAC, or as a stand-alone package and imports data from either XPAC and or 3rd party providers for cost-effective coal mining, manning and equipment management.

Users of Xact for UGC may construct, analyse and update short-term production schedules regularly using databases, Gantt charts, plots and reports.

Xact for UGC incorporates validation logic to manage non-productive tasks, maintenance schedules and outbye activities.

Benefits

The key benefits of using Xact for Underground Coal include:

  • Provision of a framework for a unified, systemised short-term scheduling process lessening rework.
  • Innovative software design and functionality addresses many of the limitations of spreadsheet based scheduling.
  • Customisable Task Templates provide quick and easy scheduling of repetitious tasks and processes such as longwall moves and panel advances.
  • Schedule construction and analysis by 'drag and drop' interactive Gantt charts and reporting tools provide an ideal environment in which to rapidly update and assess short-term schedules.
  • Inevitable prioritisation issues between production and maintenance activities are highlighted and analysed in Xact with rapid scenario analysis being available via the reporting tools.
  • The ability to consider delays as either scheduled in time or scheduled as part of a sequence allows detailed scheduling of tasks such as building stoppings or extending conveyors.
  • Custom charts allows underground operations to identify and control when personnel is over or under allocated.
  • Xact is evolving as a value-adding application for mining and industrial applications and has a well-defined, client-driven development strategy.
